Twitter is a very important part of my Internet life. It’s the first thing I open up when I wake up in the morning, and the last thing I peeked at before I go to sleep. I don’t talk (that) much, but I read every single tweets on my timeline. And now that I am following 100 people, it’s kinda hard to keep up.

I use Twitter to obtain information that otherwise I wouldn’t look for. More importantly, I look for ‘values’ in tweets. The last thing I want is for my valuable tweets from valuable people to go unnoticed, drowned by the redundant ‘noises’.

It’s a battle for me to fight these noises everyday. The littered my timeline, decrease my productivity, and cause dysthymia. I’m a lover, I’m a pacifist, and I wish every kid in the world could get a proper education. But when I’m pissed off, I’m pissed off. And most probably because your tweets meets one of these criteria:

• Contain incorrect capitalization and punctuation
• Contain constant per-hour bitching about your boss/significant-other/cat
• Contain excessive cursing
• Contain TwitterFeed of your blog’s comments
• Contain your every Foursquare check-ins
• Contain updates of your Ninja Fruit high scores
• Contain RTs of every Mashable posts
• Use RT every time you should have reply

So you’ll say, I make the same mistake too. Of course I am! I am not perfect, neither do you. That’s why you are free to unfollow me as much as I am free to unfollow you. This is a free country. Gay rights!

It’s never easy for me to click that dreaded unfollow button. My heart skips a beat every time I even have to hover on top of it. But someone just has to do it, and it turns out to be me. It sucks to be the bad guy.

But know this, friends: even if I unfollow you on Twitter, I love you all the same. I love you as the whole person. Just not your tweets.

The idea is – a bunch of people meet up and have a deep conversation over a cup of coffee. The topic can range from a book you just read to quantum physics. Have concern about all these wars, famines, and diseases? Speak it out, we’re here to hear. Open us up to new things we haven’t heard of before.

Call it mini-barcamp. Lightning talk. Geeky usrah. Mengeteh sambil belajar.

Why? Because we have spend too much time in a day checking Facebook, Twitter, and RSS feeds. We want real human moments. We are hungry for conversation.

Anyone can start it, you can start it. Want to tell people how you made a doll using recycled drinking straws? Call some friends. Even better, call some strangers. Go to a comfortable place where you guys can talk and listen – be it a Mamak stall or a windy park. Then, talk away (and remember to listen too).
